City For All Campaign convened by Social Planning Toronto
Another municipal election is approaching this October and Social Planning Toronto is organizing a City For All campaign with other community organizations. This campaign is intended to give Torontonians the tools to push their local candidates to include policies in their platforms that will make the most impact for underserved communities in the city.
The City For All campaign is being developed through community consultations and will include informational events to educate about how you can engage effectively with your local candidates. To learn more about the campaign and get updated with their events, check out the City For All website.
Review Panel on the Lack of Accessible Housing in Canada
The National Housing Council’s third review panel has been established to hold a hearing on the lack of accessible housing at the request of the Federal Housing Advocate. They are accepting written submissions from individuals and organizations. They will use these submissions to invite speakers to provide an oral submission over the summer.
We encourage disabled people and their allies to submit feedback to the panel with their concerns on the lack of accessible housing crisis and recommendations for action. A high volume of submissions may communicate the urgency for government action on this crisis.
The panel has extended their deadline for written submissions until June 22, 2026. For more information and the submission form, visit the National Housing Council’s website.
